Creamy, rich, and naturally sweet, this Homemade Pistachio Butter is a gourmet spread you can make in minutes using just three simple ingredients. Whether on toast, oatmeal, or straight off the spoon, it’s a healthy indulgence packed with antioxidants and heart-healthy fats.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (250 g) shelled pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon toasted pistachio oil or other neutral flavored oil (optional)
  • Fine sea salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Optional Roasting: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread pistachios on a baking sheet and roast for 5–7 minutes for enhanced flavor. Let cool slightly.
  2. Blend: Add roasted pistachios to a high-speed food processor. Blend for 5–8 minutes, scraping down sides as needed. Continue until smooth and creamy.
  3. Adjust Texture: Add pistachio oil gradually if needed to reach desired consistency. Blend until fully incorporated.
  4. Season: Add sea salt to taste. Blend briefly to combine.
  5. Store: Transfer to an airtight jar. Refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.

Notes

Use unsalted pistachios for better control over seasoning. For sweeter flavor, add a touch of honey or maple syrup. If your food processor gets warm, let it rest briefly between blending intervals.
